A - Line Bob
An A-line Bob is a geometric bob with a straight fringe, so called because of the resemblance to the capital A.
 
Accent Color
A sharp, intense color used as a contrast or pick-up for a color scheme. It is used to add excitement to an overall effect.

Acid Perm
An acid perm produces permanent hair waves with curls that are actually softer than an alkaline perm. It also has a pH from 6.5 to 8.0.
 
Average Ticket Price (ATP)
A formula for determining the typical fee for beauty products and services.
 
Bob
The Bob was the classic look of the 50s and 60s; the style was short and straight but blow-dried and curled under.
 
Bonding
The attachment of hair wefts to natural hair with a latex or surgical type adhesive.
 
Consultation
The process of obtaining service related information between the guest and the stylist in order to achieve expectations.

Guest Satisfaction
The process of providing products and services in a manner that satisfies guest expectations and creates a desire to make subsequent requests.

Guest Services
The art (not act) of providing a service in such a manner that satisfies guest needs and expectations, providing a sense of value.

Loyal Business Advocates
Core guests who have developed sincere connections to the salon and  willing to promote the staff and salon by word of mouth.

Marketing Mix
The combination of product, price, place, and promotion activities used to sell a product or service.

Positioning
The attempt to control the public's perception of a product or service as it relates to competitive products.

Professional
The person who obtains the necessary skills and accolades to practice in the profession of stylist, colorist, cosmetologist.

Professionalism
Required behavior, actions and appearance expected of professionals.

Profit Margin
The percentage of sales the salon has left over as profit after paying all expenses.

Promotions
A particular activity that is intended to promote the salon, its products and services.

Referral
A lead given by a loyal business advocate in an attempt to promote the salon, its staff, and services.
 
Relaxer
A chemical service that will physicallyalter the appearance of the hair, addressing both frizz and unruly curls.

Value Added
The enhancement added to a product  or service by a company before the product or service is offered to guests.
